A “mobile application”(My Tax App) is soon to be launched by the income tax department that will make life easier for taxpayers. From this app, an individual can manage anything related to IT such as payments, communications from department and information related to the tax deduction. The government is developing this app.
When you will open this app it will ask for your login. The app will link your profile with your PAN (Permanent Account Number) so you can easily access all your tax related information from this app. You can also file complaints and interact with the IT department via this app. This is being done by Central Board of Direct Taxes to make the management tax friendly. It will also maintain online scrutiny which gives a chance to the tax officials to check the details of transactions and get immediate responses by mail.
The income tax department has launched a new service taxpayer module (Aaykar Setu) which will have a desktop and mobile versions. This app will provide services such as TAN, tax payments, and PAN. My Tax app will soon be personalized but it is still not sure whether tax filings service will be available immediately or not. Through this app, IT department wants to remove people’s fear of tax department. According to a report of Tax Administrative Reforms Commission headed by Parthasarthi Shome, IT department has adopted a new motto that taxpayers must be treated as customers.
Prime minister Narendra Modi has given strict orders to the tax department to come out with certain initiatives that will remove people’s fear of the tax department. The department is working on a new assessment which is jurisdiction free. It will allow an assessment to be done from any part of India which will reduce the chances for harassment and interaction.
